 RAHUL,        WALKING...

We are witness to the drastic fall in the number of seats which Congress Party ( Indian National Congress ) won in all the state level or National level elections in India. The loss of seats do not reflect the fall of percentage of votes polled in favor of Congress party. The challenges that arose inside the Party are many fold. with the recent leaving of Ghulam Nabi we have seen a lot of criticism mounting on the probable  president Sri Rahul within  the Party as well as outside it. We have seen that old guards fail to leave until the harshest times arrive. They stand by for the good rimes to return but when they see that there  are no chances left for their dreams coming true, they leave the old parties in a hush.

Rahul has been at the receiving end despite his steady stand against extreme right wing of the ruling party. He  has embarked upon a direct fight against these divisive forces who equate nationalism with extreme version of majority religion. Minorities and Dalits have been targeted by both the ruling and the opposition parties but the fight has never been so open and direct as it is now.

Rahul has taken up a Bharat JodoYatra with a hope that the voters begin to understand the ill effects of a majority government which is pushing hard a majoritarian view in the country. By walking on such a long stretch the party will be under pressure to maintain  a sense of belonging with the poor and the oppressed people  who come to meet Rahul in person during this trip. The voters  are yet to decide the change in the central government but I hope Rahul is able to trigger a chain of thoughts where voters are able to see through the veiled approach to lead the country toward a complete authoritarian and despotic rule in the name of democracy.

The chances are that the people will read the message which Rahul wants to convey despite the fluid situation regarding the election to Party's presidentship, within a Party he is representing today. Lets hope the time will change
