When I
am a born-Muslim it becomes obvious that
I share some of my feelings as to why my community Is being forced to remain
inside the ghettos. Let me share some of the reasons here.
1- Media= Even the world is moving towards
technologies and speed of change but the Media remains aloof and indifferent to
the needs of Muslims. They overshadow and hide many real-life events related to
Muslims. They start projecting any suspect to be the real demon in society. I
know many cases of willful harassment done by Media which could easily qualify
for Court case of defamation and purgery. Social Media also not far behind in
hounding the Muslims through internet and various Social Networks. It is some
times very difficult to express ones feeling as a Muslim on internet nowadays.
2- Ministries and Ministers = In
India, there are so many Departments and Ministers for development of Muslims
but they hardly interact with Muslim community. The best examples of course are
the two Muslim Ministers of Minority Affairs. They do not care to share new
ideas. They are limited to small doles of welfare and charity type work without
any focus. The Budgets have also going down each year and recommendations of various
Studies and Commissions have not been followed. Muslims are not taken in
Government jobs. Youth are generally
avoided in many stage – managed programmes;
3- Minority-Majority Mindset of Many – this is
growing day by day. The elite schools hardly enjoy the presence of Muslim
students. The majority religion in India is backward looking and shady in
giving opportunities to the poor and the weaker sections of the Society. Islam
is perhaps the latest edition of a world religion which came much after many of
these old religions failed to meet the aspirations of the majority. There is no
substance in ghar-waapsi, dharm
parivartan,(religion conversion )
etc. as these ideas are now false, baseless, redundant and are hollow in
promise. Muslims need safety, brotherhood and care from these abovementioned-
MMM of many. Caste System still prevails and Muslims are asked to follow these
system in the name of “joining the
mainstream” when the mainstream is so polluted, stinking, corrupt and radar
less crowd. It can hardly be expected from them that they will look into the welfare of Muslims
when we have more than half the population lying under Poverty;
4- Madarsa- the managers of the schools do not
want to include modern day skills and syllabus in the curriculum of Madarsa. These socio-religious Schools
do not want grants from Governments fearing that the officers will ask for
details of Grants and bribes. These schools are necessary for spread of Islam
and the scriptures are taught in line with the International School of thoughts
but we still are under pressure to behave the way the majority wants and not
what Islam wants.
5- Muslim Countries- Mainly the UAE has been
encouraging the ghettoisation of Muslims through wahabism. The Arab World
is happy to trade with USA, etc but never wants to encourage poor Muslim youth
to start small Businesses and encourage the wealthy Indian-Muslims to establish
truly structured Multi-National Corporations which could give Business Opportunities.
The countries have ample amount of Funds and sources at their disposal to cater
to the needs of poor Muslim families. Khairat and Zakat are two main
pillars of Islam which can easily help remove the poverty of a majority of
Muslims in India but what these countries are encouraging is war, Haj / Umrah Pilgrimages
and stereotype Welfare activities like running of Urdu/ Arabic language
Schools, setting up of Madarsa, Construction of Mosques related to Wahabism,
etc. which get further tainted /
certified as terrorist –camouflaged- activities by the western World, generally
openly supported by Indian authorities as seen from time to time.
The above 5 Ms are working against the general welfare of
Muslims in India and we have to understand these Ms if we want to prevent the Ghettoisation
of Muslim community of India.
